If you’re like me, most of your time in the sky is spent on domestic discount carriers: JetBlue, Southwest, Virgin America or — shudder — Spirit Airlines. And while these certainly get you where you’re going, they do so with minimal flair and attention to your comfort (with the exception of my airline bae, JetBlue, which gives you free snacks and streams HGTV).
But Emirates, named World’s Top Airline by SkyTrax World Airline Awards and Best Airline in the World by TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards, is a whole different ball game.
Normally, a pricy international flight on Emirates is reserved for the elite among us, but Emirates’ Memorial Day sale is bringing prices way down, starting at $599 in economy and $2,829 in business class. It’s the ideal chance to splurge for your next trip abroad, and would totally amp up the glamour of a honeymoon or other romantic getaway.
What do you get with Emirates? All passengers get access to an in-flight entertainment system with more than 2,500 channels, gourmet food and complimentary wine, along with special food and activity choices for kids.
In business class, you’re basically treated like royalty, starting with the complimentary chauffeur they send to bring you to the airport, followed by lounge access at the airport and on board the plane (!!!), where you’re served free wine, cocktails and snacks. Business class also has flatbed seats and cozy duvets so you can get some cozy, uninterrupted zzz’s to ward off jet lag. It basically transforms flying from a stressful, exhausting experience to a fun, relaxing one that you actually look forward to.
And if you’re really feeling fancy, in first class, Emirates has private suites and shower spas. As in your seat is so spacious that it’s essentially its own pod-like room, and you can even take a luxe shower before disembarking all fresh and ready for the day in your destination. Who even knew such a thing was possible?
With this Emirates sale, there are more than 150 destinations to choose from, flying out of 12 U.S. gateway cities. Book a trip between August and December 2017 or January through April 2018. That’s a lot of options! Just be sure to get on it, because the sale started at midnight on Thursday, May 25 and only goes through 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 31.
Once you fly Emirates, you’ll wonder why every airline doesn’t have showers on their planes just like Jennifer Aniston does in those (pretty hilarious) commercials.
