We’ve survived most of winter, now it’s time to let ourselves dream about warmer temperatures. And one of the things that would make outdoor life a whole lot more fun is a self-inflating sofa. (We’ll tell you why shortly.)

The creation, from a Netherlands-based company, is called the Lamzac Hangout. According to the website, it is the “brainchild of Marijn Oomen, who first presented the idea for the Lamzac on the Dutch TV show Best Idea of Holland in 2010.”
The sofa is already proving to be extremely popular. Not surprising, because the beauty is you only need to carry a two-pound pouch. All it needs is a flick of the wrist (as you wave the sofa in the air), et voilà — you have a perfectly comfortable seat to add to all of your outdoor adventures.
Here are nine reasons we think this product would be a social lifesaver.
1. Cocktail parties

For when we arrive at a cocktail party and all the seats are taken — self-inflating sofa to the rescue.
2. Locked out
Or when we get locked outside a friend’s house after one too many lunchtime drinks. It’s right there to keep us comfortable.

3. Festivals

For when we’re too tired to stand at Glastonbury.
4. Suntanning
Or when we want to lounge around in the sun in serious style beside the pool.

5. We hate standing
When life is too short to stand — anywhere.

6. Tinder dates

If it’s going badly, at least you get to be comfortable…
7. Strangers’ furniture

Maybe this won’t better our social lives, but it will improve our germophobia because there’s also the major pro of having a sofa while visiting people we’re meeting for the first time. (At least we know where our furniture has been.)
8. Star gazing
Oh, and of course it’s perfect for stargazes with bae.
9. Beach excursions

We’re never bringing beach towels to the sandy shores ever again.
Good news — a self-inflating sofa can be yours for €64.95 (£50). Bad news, they are currently sold out.
