Dog destroys all toys except one that looks just like her (PHOTOS)

Most of of our furry friends love to be spoilt with toys and treats, but Alaskan Malamute Luca has time for only one kind of toy — and seeing her with it is the most adorable thing.

Before Luca’s owner, Karissa Lerch, could afford to have a pet, she bought a soft toy of the dream dog she hoped to own one day own. Years later, when she finally got the real-life version, she gifted the toy replica to her pet.

“I originally got the stuffed animal when I was in college when I really wanted a puppy,” Lerch told Buzzfeed. “A few years later, when I was able to finally get my own dog, I passed the stuffed animal down to her and she has kept it by her side at all times ever since.”

Taking to Imgur earlier this week, Lerch shared a throwback picture of Luca and the cuddly toy when she was just a pup, and then a picture of her now when she’s fully grown. She captioned the sweet pics with, “Then and now. She destroys every stuffed animal except this one. :)” — and the toy has already survived a year and a half of Luca’s love.

Speaking of her beloved pet’s favourite toy, Lerch said online, “It’s her baby 🙂 She carries it around everywhere and always has it with her when she goes to bed.”

If you’re a dog lover we know you’ll have a massive smile on your face right now, and you’re not the only one. SheepdogSherlock commented on the Imgur post to share a similar experience. They wrote, “My huskies are the same way, the first toy you ever get them there will usually be an emotional bond..”

Meanwhile, kekort2 was blown away by Luca’s cuteness, writing, “I just fainted from how sweet that is.”
