Is McDonald’s getting into the fashion business?
It seems like it, judging from the runway at the Funkshion Fashion Week in Miami Beach, Florida.
Fashion students at the Miami International University of Art created a 20-piece capsule collection — aptly called the McDCouture collection — using the fast food chain’s wrappers, including McCafe coffee cups, hamburger papers, french fry boxes, straws and more.

There was also one wedding dress made with over 900 white wrappers (and 60 yellow ones for the bouquet).
In all, the future designers used more than “4,600 McDonald’s sandwich wrappers, 1,770 fry boxes, 1,100 straws, 600 to-go bags, 500 sandwich boxes, 200 soft drink cups, 500 ketchup holders, and 100 McFlurry cups to create their one-of-a-kind-designs,” the company wrote in a blog post.
Unfortunately, the designs won’t be available for purchase at your local drive-thru anytime soon. The collection will be housed and kept on display at the Miami International University of Art and Design.
That’s not to say you can’t make your own. It might get a little expensive, but what’s expense in the name of fashion?
