Popular raw dog food recalled due to possible salmonella contamination

If you buy your canine pal Nature’s Variety dog food, it’s time to switch it out.

Specifically, their Instinct Raw Chicken Formula is being recalled due to a possible salmonella risk. Although no illnesses have been reported as of Monday, it is still recommended that you don’t use the food and monitor your dog’s health.

If any signs of salmonella poisoning — such as fever, vomiting, or dehydration — arise, be sure to take your dog to the vet immediately.

— UPC# 769949611486 – Instinct Raw Chicken Formula Patties for Dogs 6 lb.; Best By 04/27/16

The products were distributed in retail stores in the United States with some distribution in Canada.
