Mother’s Day is just weeks away, so it’s officially time to get to shopping. We already know that this fun-filled, family holiday is all about celebrating the mothers in our lives, but we often forget to find a gift that is as unique as they are. While there are plenty of cookie-cutter Mother’s Day gifts out there (ahem, flowers and candy), you can make the women in your life feel extra-special this year with these one-of-a-kind picks.
To kick things off, let’s start with the age-old question: Paraphrasing the blockbuster movie title, what do women really want?
Haters don’t hate! Sure, breakfast in bed is very sweet and we moms will always treasure those handmade cards.
But we want more!
So this year I spent hours online, in stores and reading magazines to create a different type of Mother’s Day Gift Guide. This is not your last-minute grab-and-go guide. Instead, here is The Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift Guide: a curated list you’ll want to share again and again (for Mother’s Day, a special birthday or the holidays). You can thank me in the comments!
1. For the mom who loves to travel
Made in the USA (my new criteria for shopping!), Cinda B bags are bright, lightweight and durable. All handbags, totes, travel bags and accessories are of the highest quality and super affordable. The bags are water resistant, stain resistant and machine washable. Based on the color palette of tropical islands, these hues and patterns will make you swoon! With names like Verde Bonita, Calypso and Bora Bora, Mom will be instantly transported. (Cinda B, $70 – $150)
2. For the mom who loves the magic of the sea
Inspired by shells, sea and sand, Loren Hope jewelry’s spring/summer collection tells the story of the modern day mermaid. She is graceful, soft and feminine, a dreamer… but don’t cross her; she knows who she is, will stand up to anyone and is not afraid to fight! Just like us modern moms! I love the artisanal quality of these pieces and their timeless and “classic with a twist” styling. Best of all, the line screams warmth and summer! (Loren Hope, $88 – $300)
