Chilly Kentucky cops issue joke warrant for Frozen's Elsa
It's been a really cold week in Harlan, Kentucky.
It's so cold in fact that the local police department figures there must be come kind of magic at work and would like to question Elsa from the movie Frozen to see if she's behind the frigid temperatures.
In case you don't have a little kid in the house, or have been living in an ice castle on the top of a mountain, Elsa of Arendelle is a queen with magical powers to turn the weather to winter in an instant. She has to wear gloves to protect people from her magical icy touch. It's probably the best place to start any cold weather investigation.
The police department posted the joke A.P.B. on the city's Facebook page yesterday and it has since gone viral.
"All points bulletin!!! HPD has issued an arrest warrant for Queen Elsa of Arendelle," the post says. "Suspect is a blonde female last seen wearing a long blue dress and is known to burst into song 'Let it Go!' As you can see by the weather she is very dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend her alone."
It's nice that the community can warm up with a cute little joke.
City officials seem caught off guard by all of the attention.
"Wow. We were just having a little fun and didn't expect this!" They wrote on a follow-up post. "It has been fun and we had to have a little fun after this week's weather. But as a reminder, do take the precautions you need to keep you, your friends, family, neighbors and pets safe during the snow queen's mad spell."
The good news is that the forecast shows a break in the weather will come this weekend when Friday's high temperature of 28 degrees will give way to warmer 43-degree temperatures on Saturday. Elsa might have gotten the message.
