Britney Spears has ditched the ponytail and debuted a sleek new style on the red carpet in Germany. We’re loving the look and want to jump on the bob bandwagon.
According to celebrity hair stylist, Mark Townsend, the bob is no simple style. It’s a dynamic and versatile look that can be used by anyone with varying hair textures.
“There are so many variations on this classic haircut that I have a hard time technically defining what a bob is, but for me, a bob is a haircut that falls between the chin and the shoulders in length and the focus is usually on the ends, be it asymmetrical, blunt cut or textured,” Townsend says.
Britney Spears has been making some public appearances to launch her new lingerie line, the Intimate Britney Spears, lately and she unveiled a new stylish look on the red carpet in Germany on Tuesday.
Brit went for the classic blunt bob style, with her signature blond hair cut just above her shoulders. If you’re thinking of going for the chop, take a look and see if you’re showing the signs that you’re ready to rock the bob.
1. You’ve just gone through a breakup
There’s no better way to get over a breakup than by giving yourself a makeover. Spears’ new look comes just weeks after she split from boyfriend, David Lucado.
2. You’re time-poor
If you’re running around in the mornings like a chicken with its head chopped off, then spending 45 minutes doing your hair sounds like mission impossible. But with the bob, just dry and tousle with some leave-in styling mousse and Bob’s your uncle.
3. You need some new style direction
Nothing says you have no style direction more than a ponytail. Leave the pony for the gym or casual outings. But, if you’re lacking style inspiration, go for the bob. It’s an instant hairdo that doesn’t take long to style.
4. You want to frame your face
The mascara is making your eyes pop and that fresh coat of lippy gives your lips a plump pout, but a short bob, which frames your face, can make your features stand out even more.
5. Show off your natural curls
The bob isn’t just for those with straight hair, it’s great for those with loose curls or wavy hair. Just make sure your hairdresser allows for some bounce and doesn’t cut your hair too short.
