5 Tips for healthier nails in 2015


Do you wear nail polish, in part, to hide your naked nails?


t Do some kinds of imperfections keep you from putting your bare tips on display? Been there, done that! While genetics play a part, the health and overall appearance of your nails starts from within.

t Start 2015 off right by getting your nails manicured. Add a few lifestyle changes, throw in a couple topical treatments and you’ll be well on your way to a more beautiful, natural nail.


1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

t Water is essential to life and offers so many benefits including keeping your nail matrix hydrated. Don’t like the taste of water? I keep a squeeze bottle of lime juice at the ready.

2. Increase your vitamin D intake

t So many people suffer from a Vitamin D deficiency, especially in the winter when sunlight is at a minimum. And vitamin D is so crucial for nail health. Oily fish like trout and salmon, portabella mushrooms, whole grain cereal and tofu are just a few of the foods that can boost your vitamin D levels.

3. Say hello to biotin

4. Get oiled up
