We all have a scarf hidden at the back of our closet that we never wear, but can’t bear to get rid of. Breathe new life into that old scarf by transforming it into a cozy blanket-style vest in a matter of minutes. A few strategic tweaks and you’ll have yourself a good-as-new addition to your wardrobe!
- Large scarf (My scarf is 27 x 74 inches)
- Rotary cutter or scissors
- Marker in contrasting ink color to your scarf
- Cutting mat
Fold the scarf in half horizontally so both fringe edges are touching. Measure 6 inches in from the fold and 5 inches down from the top. Mark location with a contrasting ink pen or marker.
Draw a 9-inch vertical line down from the mark made in step 1. Cut along the vertical line with a rotary cutter. Make sure to press firmly enough to cut through both layers of fabric.
Unfold the scarf and slide your arms through the holes. Layer over your winter basics for an easy, pulled together look.
