5 Stylish Canadian celebrities

You might not know it, but Canada has a lot of fashionable celebrities! Yes, these humble Canucks are fashion-forward, up-to-date with trends, and they are the perfect style role models to those looking for inspiration. From Rachel McAdams to Ryan Reynolds, here are five Canadians who are just as stylish as they are talented.

Rachel McAdams

If Lacey Chabert (a.k.a. Gretchen Wieners) were to describe Rachel McAdams‘ style, we’re sure she would say it’s so fetch! (Sorry, I just had to.) But really, Rachel does know fashion, and her quirky and fun-loving personality is reflected in many of her outfits, which range from boho pretty to effortless elegance. On the red carpet and at special events, The Notebook star opts for bold, detailed tops or bottoms and complements them with a perfect smoky eye and her infectious, bright smile, as seen here at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. Comfort is also important for the once-competitive figure skater, who isn’t shy when it comes to dressing down in a flowing maxi dress or loose T-shirt when off duty, all the while looking as if she just walked off a campaign for Anthropologie.

Elisha Cuthbert

Whether you remember watching her every Saturday morning on Popular Mechanics for Kids or are impressed by her ability to be beautiful and funny on the ABC sitcom Happy Endings, Elisha Cuthbert has made a name for herself as one of the most fashionable and — obviously — very stunning Canadian actresses. The Calgary-born native’s style can be summed up as girl-next-door with flair (and I’m not talking about the one she portrayed in her 2004 movie). From feminine dresses to jeans-and-T-shirt combos, she has mastered the ability to shift from casual chic to red carpet ready. This shiny satin, purple sleeveless dress she wore at a recent press tour in California is just one example of how she proves a glamorous outfit does not need to have all the bells and whistles to look great; it just needs a talented girl with great fashion sense!

Emily VanCamp

If you watch Revenge, you know there two things to obsess about: the very dramatic plot line and the fashion. Taking a book out of the pages of Gossip Girl, this show has been known to be every bit as stylish as it is addictive, and the leading lady, Emily VanCamp, is the girl to thank for that. Both on and off the camera, Emily is creating a signature style for herself, as she is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young female celebrities in Hollywood. When it comes to fashion on the show, it’s all about going big with glamour or going home, as ball gowns, printed blouses and the best in shoes are not off limits. While taking it easy, paparazzi often catch the Ontario-born actress mixing it up with fitted blazers or playful dresses, making her one of the most fashion-diverse starlets to grace the small screen.

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds

I thought it was only fair to include Ryan on this list, since he is one of Canada’s most handsome and talented male celebrities to be exported to America, after all. Whether you love his acting skills or just love his chiselled good looks, the Green Lantern star — who was once voted People‘s Sexiest Man Alive — knows how to wear just about everything. Really. His suave and effortless ability to pull off tailored pants with a preppy sweater has guided men everywhere to also dress with style, and he made cologne popular again (for both men and women) when he became the celebrity spokesmodel for Hugo Boss. Yes, Blake Lively is certainly a lucky woman.

Kreesha Turner

Don’t call her boring — especially when it comes to her eclectic fashion sense. Besides her amazing, soulful voice and her utterly genuine personality whenever in front of the camera, Kreesha is a Canadian celebrity whose outfits are as unique as her music, and her fashion risks on the red carpet are simply divine. Her Lady Gaga-esque studs and leather tights getup at the Much Music Video Awards in 2012 and the stunning red cut-out dress (as seen here) she wore at a fundraiser hosted by media diva Perez Hilton are only two examples of how this exotic beauty turns up the sexy meter while still managing to look classy.
