You don’t have to go under the knife to look younger. With a few product switches in your cosmetics case and a quick trip to the hair salon, you can erase years from your appearance.
Looking younger is at the top of nearly every woman’s wish list. We hear a lot about Botox and fillers, but here’s some good news for you: there are lots of much simpler ways you can look instantly younger — and none of them involve a needle of any sort.
Let your brows grow in fuller
Super thin brows have not been in for ages — and having them will totally age you. Hold back from picking up your tweezers each time you gaze into your bathroom mirror and let a few hairs grow back instead. Then fill in your new, fuller brows to give more structure to your face — use an eye pencil and quickly feather in more intensity for a natural look.
Wear an illuminating foundation
Look for a foundation with a very subtle luminescence to it. This will give a youthful glow to your skin. Alternatively, you can try using a bit of highlighter on your cheekbones, just underneath your brows and at the bow of your lips to create a similar dewy look.
Use blotting papers instead of powdering your face
If you have fine lines and you’ve gotten into the habit of powdering your face often, the excess powder can highlight your signs of aging. Resist the urge to powder and use a simple blotting paper instead to handle any shine.
Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks
If you’re sporting cheeks reminiscent of the Dynasty era (remember those big, angry slashes of dark blush?) it’s time to give your look an update. Look for a bright pink blush (it always appears softer on the skin so don’t be afraid to experiment with the bubblegum-like shades when choosing a colour) and apply it in a round shape right on the apples of the cheeks. Take inspiration from how your kids’ cheeks flush when they’ve been playing outside.
Cut a fringe
Ask your stylist to cut you bangs for a fun, flirty (and easy) way to look years younger. He or she will be able to take your hair texture and face shape to determine the most flattering bangs for you.
