Your home’s walls are a blank canvas, waiting for you to decorate with your own personal artifacts and flair. And even if you can’t afford some high-class pieces of art, there are some creative ways to add some personality to your walls.
If you have photos of family or memorable trips, pull them out of their albums and frame them. They’ll add colour and texture to any wall and will give people a sense of who you are and what you live life for.
Call on your kids
Ask the little ones in your life to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for you to frame and hang on your wall. Just grab a big piece of canvas, a frame and you’re ready to go.
Get inspired every day by creating an inspiration board with friends and family. Cut out words that are meaningful to you. Use beautiful magazine photos. It’s a fun and feel-good way to add art to your space.
Visit your local design school
Many design and art schools have art sales throughout the year where you can purchase incredible art on the cheap. And who knows, maybe the next Picasso or Monet will have made the piece you pick out.
Many books – including art and cookbooks – are loaded with elegantly shot pictures that would look great in a frame on your wall. Simply buy the book, tear out a page [ensure you don’t want to read what’s on the back first] and frame!
