5 Fall fashion essentials you should add to your closet ASAP

We are well into the autumn season; the weather is breezy enough for scarves and the nights are cold enough for jackets. Fall brings on light layers that eventually turn into heavy coats, fur-lined boots and more leather wear.

t Although I love some trends like the culotte pants (which I haven’t tested yet), luxe sweatshirts and the fabulous fringe looks, the go-to essentials are more stable in my life. Setting aside my current interests leaves my essentials that are the heartbeat to my fall wardrobe. My five top fall essentials are as follows.

1. Oversized blazer

t Great with just about anything. From a chic dress to your favorite boyfriend jeans, they complement your look very well. In this outfit, I chose to wear a vintage Dana Buchman blazer in a fuchsia hue that gives a dull or basic outfit a great pop.

2. Checkered or grid printed pants

t I love what a white-and-black printed trouser does for the office as well as after-hours events. They also seem to add a great illusion to one’s shape if they are cut right.

3. Leather satchel with gold hardware and/or zippers

t Make sure to invest in a good quality bag that carries your daily life but gives great style. I love satchels this season with small compartments and details.

4. Nude pointed pumps

t A pair of nude pumps are all the rage and have been for quite some time now. They serve as a neutral and tone down all-black outfits, denim on denim and even the girliest, floral dresses with your moto jackets.

5. Fedora hats

t Have you noticed? Wide-brimmed hats are just about everywhere. I admire the masculinity it adds to our wardrobes. They are chic, timeless and super stylish. I have them in a couple of colors but want more styles and shades. You can never have enough.

t What I’m wearing: vintage Dana Buchman blazer, Ann Taylor shirt, pants from JC Penney, Zara pumps and hat, Rebecca Minkoff Perry satchel, House of Harlow necklace
