Get inspired with pre-Fashion Week street style

New York Fashion Week officially kicks off Sept. 4 but many stylish Manhattanites make the sidewalk their catwalk everyday. Here are some fashionable females we spotted on the streets to get you excited for when it all kicks off next week.

Danika Brysha

Occupation: model and founder of Model Meals, a Paleo meal delivery service in NY

What are you wearing? Faux leather overalls from Forever 21, H&M striped crop top sweater, Franco Sarto booties, BuyConscious bracelet

Why do you love it? It’s sexy and shows a bit of skin but it still innocent paired with overalls. I also spill on myself so black comes in handy! These boots are my favorite because they’re super comfortable for walking around New York but have a little heel.

Standout accessory: This BuyConscious bracelet adds a pop of color and is for a good cause. I like knowing that something as small as what I’m wearing is giving back in some way.

Style rule to live by: Use fashion to stand out but not to distract from what’s underneath it.

Laura Lane

Occupation: Comedy writer and performer in This Is Why You’re Single

What are you wearing? Caron Callahan agra pants, an American Apparel cotton crop top,  Seychelles gold slingbacks shoes, Zara hat, rings by Cat Bird NYC, Mociun, Chanel and Lorraine Schwartz

Why do you love it? It’s one of those outfits I can wear to the office, happy hour, a writing session or a BBQ. I like mixing high- and low-end items and buying clothes from local designers. Caron Callahan’s piece is one of my favorites. It looks like a skirt but it’s not.

Standout accessory: The Chanel ring was a gift to myself when I was at the Cannes Film Festival two years ago. I had never just walked into a Chanel store and bought something and where better to do that than France?

Style rule you live by: You’ll never look stylish if you look uncomfortable. Just go with your instinct, be weird and have fun with fashion, because, really, who cares?

Kiara Horwitz

Occupation: Publicist and president of Kiara Horwitz Public Relations

What are you wearing? Jumper from Urban Outfitters, bag from Free People and shoes from Aldo.

Why do you love it? It’s still summery enough for warm weather, but it’s also pre-fall appropriate.

Standout accessory: My necklace is by Zara and it makes a statement, while being pretty and indie.

Fashion rule to live by: I’m not a matchy person. I can’t match my shoes to my purse.

Chloe Melas

Occupation: Entertainment Reporter at HollywoodLife, co-host of VH1’s The Gossip Table

What are you wearing? My top and skirt are from Intermix.

Why do you love it? I love crop tops… they are my obsession this summer.

Standout accessory: My flower ring was my grandmother’s. She got it in Saudi Arabia and I wear it every day. Then of course, my engagement ring! It’s my favorite piece of jewelry I own.

Style rule you live by: My favorite quote by Yves Saint Laurent: “Fashions fade, style Is eternal.” So true!

Yvonne Najor

Occupation: Co-founder of Host Committee, a party planning service

What are you wearing? My top is Zara, the skirt is Lush and my shoes are Jessica Simpson.

Why do you love it? It’s a great look to take you from day to night. My company organizes parties so I’m constantly running from the office to my events so this works for everything.

Standout accessory: My Chanel bag is big enough to fit everything and it’s a classic that won’t go out of style. I like to invest in timeless pieces.

Style rule you live by: Wear things that make you feel confident and sexy. If you don’t feel good, the outfit won’t look good.

Christina Mannino

Occupation: Fashion designer and deejay

What are you wearing? DEIVIE SS15 tank and quilted skirt from my line, Calvin Klein bralette, Schutz shoes, Rebecca Minkoff cross body bag.

Why do you love it? I’ve been all about sporty looks mixed with glamour — so I added the chain detail at the neckline of the tank. An A-line skirt with a high waist is always a good way to go because it’s loose and tight in the right places.

Standout accessory: I bought these mirrored sunglasses off the street and my bag is versatile and goes with everything.

Fashion rule to live by: Don’t be a slave to trends. Be yourself and have fun with fashion.
