These adorable chalk packs are very easy to make and will set the tone for the rest of the school year.
Back-to-school presents don't have to be large or expensive; it's important that they're made with thought, to show teachers a little appreciation for their efforts. Being one of these people who spends far too much time wrapping gifts than is probably normal, I was very excited to make these adorable chalk packs.
What you'll need:
- Foil bag
- Gold leaf
- Handmade watercolor tags
Making the tags:
Step 1: Draw the desired tag shapes (triangles, squares, hearts), then cut them out from thick white paper and make holes using hole puncher.
Step 2: Engage your kids to paint the tags with watercolor, playing with colors while the paint is still wet (I used pink and yellow).
Making the gift packs:
Step 1: Create a little bag from the packing foil, or use ready foil bag.
Step 2: Place chalk, or any other gift you wish inside the foil bag.
Step 3: Place a little bit of gold leaf inside for decoration.
Step 4: Wrap a colorful string around the edge of the foil bag.
Step 5: Attach watercolor gift tag to the string and sign it.
Now your back-to-school gifts are ready to be given to all the lovely teachers. It's a nice thought that will set the tone for the rest of the school year, don’t you think?
