This DIY trick will put an end to key fumbles ... forever

As if we aren't carrying enough in our hands (mail, groceries, purse, yoga mat, baby, flowers, umbrella, etc.), grabbing the correct key sometimes (or let's face it, many times) seems like a chore. It's a fumble sport aiming to spot, grab and insert the correct key into the corresponding lock before it falls out of your hand.

So what's a gal or guy to do? Add a color-coded top to easily distinguish the keys. Now, since my expertise is economical solutions, that meant that I did not want to spend money on this project; instead I eyeballed all my... nail polish. Yep, it's paint with a built-in brush.

Steps:

  1. Ransack (gather) all nail polish bottles and keys
  2. Paint the top of the keys with colors you love

Yep, that simple.

When painting the keys, have fun with the colors and designs; you can add numbers, add initials, add zigzag lines.

Thus far the painted keys have not even chipped, lasting longer than my manicure. Do you plan on making this project? I bet the colorful keys will make you smile, especially on those days that your keys match your nails, wink.
