Beach houses may be a fantasy for many of us, but they can still be a significant source of inspiration to bring a bit of the beach life into our own homes. Whether you’re ready to design a beachfront-worthy home or simply want to dream, take a look at these eight stunning beach homes on the California coast.
1. Keeping it simple yet stunning
A Newport Beach favorite, this beautiful beach house is a William Guidero design. Inspired by the simplicity of beach living, Guidero designed the home with clean lines and natural materials. The all-white and window exterior faces the waves and allows the California sunshine to come right in.
2. Bringing the Mediterranean home
Rich in detail and lush in Mediterranean inspiration, this gorgeous beach house, located in the quiet coastal town of Cayucos, was designed by AAC Designs and built by Mark Sullivan Fine Custom Homes. With this house, one of Sullivan’s favorite projects, the exterior is Old World while the interior has elements of beams and woodwork reminiscent of the family’s historic cabin in Montana.

4. It’s a spa day every day
This impressive Malibu beach-front home was designed by Santa Barbara-based Shubin + Donaldson Architects. It’s ideal for those of us who want our home to not just be our haven, but to also be the most tranquil place we can go. The substantial windows, white interior and exterior, and stairs to the sand make every space in this place a tranquil retreat.
