Shannon Bird

With the weather being so unpredictable this spring, I find myself wearing transitional pieces. I am wearing a light pastel denim mixed with a pearl-collared light sweater. I decided a fun, white, woven purse would spring up this outfit. I am loving the nautical combination of navy, pink and white. The pearl accents give this outfit a preppy feel.

I styled my JustFab look around these darling lace-up heels that are now instantly my new favorite shoes. I promise you they are even better in person. I picked these JustFab distressed skinny jeans for an edgy look to bring a perfect balance for my fuchsia sandals. I think this color really pops against the denim wash.

Bonus tip: When you have two or more shades of pastel colors, like my pale-blue knitted sweater, necklace and blush-colored bag, you should bring it together with a bold lip and shoe to avoid being washed out by light colors.

These mint pants are perfect for spring since pastels are super in right now. For curvy girls: Size up in these jeans (from what you’re used to). Who cares what the number on the tag of your pants says, wear what fits. Don’t get caught up in numbers; there are so many different brands whose sizes vary that you just have to hunker down, try things on and go with what makes you feel good.

Dress up your comfy and casual boyfriend jeans by adding a nice blouse in a punchy color, along with some girly heels. It’s borrowed-from-the-boys in the best way. When springtime rolls around, you usually dress for the season by incorporating florals in your clothes. Switch it up with a cheerful pair of floral shoes and, if you’re not the sugary-sweet kind of girl, but still want to rock a great pastel come spring, try adding it with an accessory. This bag is a bit more edgy with the metal corners and gold hardware accents.

Boyfriends are the perfect item to transition from winter to spring and summer. And no longer just for students, backpacks are the new carry-all for all your style needs. Look for them in feminine colors and with cool details, like this blush-tone one with the tassel and chain details. This bag also fits into the pastel trend, along with the candy-colored statement necklace, which is all the rage this season.
