Product review: Dove go fresh Restore Beauty Bar

This beauty bar is chockfull of moisturizers, and has a delicious new fig and orange blossom scent. We dig!

Dove go fresh Restore Beauty Bar ($3.59, this product:

Dove go fresh Restore Beauty Bar (, $4)

What the product claims to do:

Leave your skin soft, clean and moisturized with its formula that contains a quarter of moisturizing cream.

How it worked for me:

The Beauty Bar in the new fragrance, Restore, is a bright floral orange blossom scent. The first thing I noticed was that the product remained true to the original Dove Beauty Bar in the sense that it really did clean and moisturize my skin, and there was no need for a follow up moisturizer or body butter. The fragrance was light and not overpowering.

How this product looks and feels:

The Restore Beauty Bar comes in a pack of two, and it is the version of the Dove bar that you’ve come to know and love. The bar generates a gentle lather but it’s not overwhelming, and a little bit goes a long way. The fragrance is not overpowering and sits well on the skin.

What I liked about this product:

I really loved the fragrance because it was both warm and energizing — a rare combination!

What I would change about this product:

I wish the Beauty Bar didn’t dissolve quite so quickly: I need to make sure it is in a watertight container when I store it in the shower or out of the shower head’s range.

I would recommend this product for:

Women with all skin types, especially those with drier skin and those who love a gentle summery fragrance.
