Good news: Kate Middleton goes glam for her first official family portrait with baby Prince George. Better news: You can get the same dress if you’re willing to wait a few weeks!
Budget shopper Kate Middleton strikes again! The mom of newborn Prince George posed with her son, husband Prince William and dog Lupo for an official family photo wearing a gorgeous fuchsia-colored dress.
Is it a Jenny Packham exclusive, like her post-delivery dress? Nope! The Duchess of Cambridge again opted for a maternity dress by British retailer Séraphine. The cost? A budget-friendly $79.
If you recall, the new mom also opted for the same dress — in a different pattern — when she left Kensington Palace on July 25. It’s déjà vu all over again: The first dress sold out, and now the fuchsia dress is on back order until September.
“The dress is one of our signature styles — we know she loves it as she has it in two other colors — she really loves the shape! And it’s perfect post-pregnancy when you still have a little tummy,” Séraphine founder Cecile Renaud told People in July.
We love, love, love that Middleton continues to wear maternity dresses in the first weeks post-pregnancy. It shows that she’s more worried about getting to know her son than about her post-baby body.
Good thing, too: It sounds like the new prince is quite the interesting character already.
“He’s a little bit of a rascal, put it that way,” William told CNN correspondent Max Foster earlier this week. “So he either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger. I’m not sure. But, uh, no, he’s, he’s a little, he’s growing quite quickly actually. But he’s a little fighter. He kind of, he wriggles around quite a lot. And he doesn’t want to go to sleep that much, which is a little bit of a problem.”
It also sounds like Mom is already setting him up to be a savvy shopper. His official “outfit” for the portrait is the same G.H. Hurt swaddling blanket he wore to leave the hospital. We can’t wait to see how she dresses him as he gets older!
