21. Inflating gas balloons
If you’re looking for a fun way to pass time during the summer, try the gas inflated balloon trick. Just beware — it may not work. A hit or miss pin, it’s best to try this as an experiment. And if you would like your balloons to float, rent a helium tank.
22. Orange peel rose
In this pin, a blogger cuts old orange peels into roses and uses them as potpourri. While the smell may be great at first, beware of potential mold on this dried fruit. To avoid, purchase already-made potpourri and spray it with orange zest. Or just make sure you use this as a temporary fix in your home, instead of a moldy, permanent fixture.
23. Sequined heart patch
There is nothing cuter than an elbow patch. This DIY involves glue and sequins. And while it may be adorable, it may not last through a wash cycle. Save time by adding the sequins to felt first and then sewing it on, or by purchasing a patch from your local craft store.
24. Chalkboard table
We are huge fans of the chalkboard paint movement. But before you paint your kitchen table, make sure to always serve food using plates and cute serveware. If you’re afraid little ones may grab for dropped nibbles, paint only a portion of your table where their little hands are less likely to reach.
25. Monogrammed plate
Cute for home decor, this monogrammed plate is made with paper and modge podge. As we don’t recommend using this for food, perhaps use a permanent marker to create your own DIY plate. Simply color, paint and bake. Just remember to wash before serving your favorite guests of honor.
