To-die-for dÉcor ideas
We've put together some fun Halloween décor ideas sure to impress your guests and get you in a spooky state of mind.
Whether you're having a Halloween party or just a simple get-together this month, set up a festive candy bar where guests can indulge in their favorite sweet treats. Fill glass containers and jars in various sizes with colorful candy of your choice. Then provide scoops and cellophane or paper bags and let everyone enjoy at their leisure. Not only is this a playful entertaining idea, you can leave the candy out as a way to brighten up the room post-party.
Cut tea light-size holes in the tops of miniature pumpkins and small gourds. Pop in a light and group several together on various surfaces for some festive ambiance.
Drape shredded strips of cheesecloth onto chandeliers (be sure not to cover the bulb) for a subtly scary addition to your dining room -- your chandeliers will take on a haunted house effect. To up the fright factor even more, add plastic spiders in various sizes (available at most dollar stores).
Pick up several faux crows (check party supply stores or the dollar store) and affix them to twigs and branches you collect from your own yard or a park (make sure you're only collecting fallen branches from the park!). Create a display in large, decorative vases that show off your spooky birds-filled branches. Two of these displays in your entryway work well.
The easiest way to add some Halloween charm to your home is by accessorizing with pillows or other accents (vases, serving dishes, candles) in black and orange. Pick up several from any discount store and display around your home for an easy, affordable nod to the season.
