It seems like the whole world loves to hate on Goop; exhibit A: Saturday Night Live. But the Goop Founder herself, Gwyneth Paltrow, quite successfully spoofed herself and her lifestyle and wellness guru status on SNL, and we can’t help but admit that it gave us a newfound respect for the actress (even if she recommended steaming your vagina at one point). And now, after hearing news of Goop’s wallpaper collab, we’re even reconsidering the products on her website.
Announced in February, Goop teamed up with DIY textile brand Tempaper to release a non-toxic, Chinoiserie-design wallpaper and it’s downright gorgeous. The floral, “mood-lifting and serene” print is called Wings, and it’s available on both Goop’s and Tempaper’s website.
Wings is described by Tempaper as a modern interpretation of chinoiserie or the European interpretation of Chinese and East Asian art. “The design features hand-painted flora and fauna elements, as well as a stunning pale pink palette with dove-grey and white highlights,” the brand describes.
“Tempaper has always sought to design inspirational products with an emphasis on quality, both values that goop holds dear,” says Tempaper Creative Director and Co-Founder Jennifer Matthews in the press release. “A partnership between our two brands was a perfect fit, as both companies strive to fulfill the needs of our consumers with beautiful and innovative products.”
What makes Tempaper products so unique is they are not only self-adhesive, repositionable and removable, but they’re also lead-free, phthalate-free and VOC-free, or, volatile organic compounds-free. In other words, their wallpapers are non-toxic, eco-friendly and totally kid-friendly — and we’d consider that a win-win-win.
