Cut out square shapes from paper

Using the lines in the patterned paper, cut out square shapes from the patterned paper. You want them to be a little shorter than the ties.

Tape letters to squares

Cut out the letter templates and tape or glue them to the square cutouts. We used tape so they would look cleaner and more professional. Using the same tape, attach the ties and the squares with the letters onto the yarn, spacing them out about an inch.
