Man of Steel party props: City silhouettes & comic bubbles
As Man of Steel hits theaters this summer, get the kids ready for some super fun! Superman is flying back, and he's bigger and better than ever. These simple party props will make your hero-themed party kryptonite proof!
- Black foam core board (available at craft stores and anywhere school supplies are sold)
- Exacto knife
- Silver marker or other color that will show up against the black foam core
- Large piece of cardboard
- Chalkboard paint — spray paint is easier to work with for this project
Draw a speech bubble in different shapes, using the light colored marker. Draw a classic shape for comments, and a jagged-edge shape for action words like "pow!" or "kabam!"
Place the foam core on top of the cardboard and, using the exacto knife, carefully cut out your shapes following the lines you've drawn. The cardboard will act as a protective barrier between the knife and work surface.
Once the shapes are cut out, spray a layer of chalkboard paint over them and let them dry. After the paint has dried for 24 hours, season it by covering it with chalk and then wiping it away.
Use the speech bubbles for the photo area and let guests write their own words.
