Drink up! A DIY Thanksgiving centerpiece from beer bottles
Looking for a fun, cheap and easy mantel display, or centerpiece for a Thanksgiving tablescape? Instead of spending money on some overpriced craft online, make your own with old beer bottles, some paint and glitter!
This DIY Thanksgiving craft is as easy as it is pretty and takes less than 30 minutes to make. For some rustic glam, fill the bottles with hay or sticks and display on your Thanksgiving tablescape or fireplace mantel! Plus it's a great way to remind you to say "thanks" for all you have this year.
What you'll need:
- 6 brown beer bottles
- White paint
- Letter stencils
- Small tip paintbrush
- Gold glitter
Step 1: Clean bottles and tape stencils to them
Clean out your bottles and wipe them down. Be sure they are fully dry before painting. Once bottles are dry, tape the stencil to the bottle and arrange them so they say thanks.
Step 2: Carefully paint inside the templates & let dry
Using a small, round-tipped paintbrush, paint the insides of the stencils. Let the paint dry completely before you remove the stencil. Once the paint has dried, remove the stencil and fill in any missing holes or scrape off smudges.
Step 3: Outline the paint in glue and sprinkle with glitter
Once letters are done, using another small-tipped brush, outline them in glue. Immediately sprinkle them with glitter until fully covered. Blow off and wipe away excess glitter. Let dry completely before displaying!
