Ice cream cone cupcakes
Yields approximately 12 cupcakes
- 1 box of cake mix or your favorite homemade recipe
- Ice cream cones
- Different flavors and colors of frosting
- Toppings of your choice
Ice cream cupcake topping ideas:
- Chocolate chips
- Crushed Oreos
- Shredded coconut
- Mini marshmallows
- Mini gummy bears
- Maraschino cherries
- Fresh fruit — bananas, strawberries, blueberries
- Sauces — chocolate, butterscotch, caramel, strawberry
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare your favorite cake batter from scratch or from a mix.
Stand your cones up in a muffin pan to keep them from falling over and fill each cone a little more than halfway with your batter. This is important because we want the cupcakes to rise enough to look like a dip of ice cream but not so much that it runs over the sides.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool.
When completely cooled, decorate them with colored frosting and your favorite toppings.
Finish them off with a little white frosting piped to look like whipped cream with a big red cherry plopped on the top!
