Another year, another candle on the cake. However, this year you don't have to settle for the same lame birthday get-together. Instead, try one of these experiential party ideas on for size. Celebrate your birthday and have a blast!

Men on sailboat

With its popularity soaring, paintball is a party idea that will not only excite you but also all your friends. Although you'll need at least 10 or 12 friends for paintball, you won't have any problem finding interested participants.

Once you have your paintball guest list, contact a local course to reserve a date. Be sure to rent the necessary equipment, go over the ground rules and split your group into two teams.

If you love life out on the open water, sailing is a fitting experiential party idea. A unique aspect about sailing is that you can enjoy it with a big group of friends or, if you prefer, with just two or three.

If you haven't been sailing before, don't worry! Wherever you find rental sailboats, you are sure to find a professional offering sailing lessons. Before you know it, all your worries will be forgotten as you set sail.

Is there snow on a mountain in your area? If so, consider having a skiing party. You can make it a one-day event or you can rent a cabin for a weekend or longer with a group of friends. Since skiing is appropriate for virtually all ages, don't hesitate to expand your guest list to include family and co-workers.

After hours out on the slopes, you're sure to have worked up a hunger. Find a nearby restaurant that has hearty food and plenty of adult beverages so that you can celebrate and wind down.

Deep sea fishing

It doesn't get more relaxing than fishing. But instead of fishing at a local pond, take it a step further and book a deep sea fishing outing. Available in most coastal areas, deep sea fishing adds an adventurous twist to traditional fishing.

While it is possible to take a large group deep sea fishing, it's a party idea that is best experienced with a few of your closest friends. Preferably, take your regular fishing buddies with you so that you'll have an outing that you can talk about for years to come.

Do the above experiential party ideas seem too tame for your liking? Skydiving may then be the answer. It doesn't get more exhilarating than jumping out of a plane and speeding toward the earth with the only thing between life and death being the parachute on your back.

While not everyone you know will be up for skydiving, you're sure to find a few friends willing to take the plunge with you!
