Dating can cause even the most confident among us to hide who we really are, thinking it will help us find or hang onto a guy. There is no substitute for the real you, so don’t change your personality to match what you think someone wants. Instead, stay true to the fabulous person you are.

1Let go of insecurities.

Insecurities — about sex, waist size, breast size, job title — can hold you back and make you feel like you must pretend to be something you’re not. If you want a relationship to work, you need to silence those negative voices in your head. Be yourself, and don’t worry about what he’s thinking and if he’s going to stick around. If he doesn’t like you for you, he isn’t worth your time.
