No one enjoys rejection. That kind of blow to the ego hurts, but it doesn’t have to drag you down for long. Here are some of the best ways to deal with dating dismissal with a minimum of frustration.

1Don’t dwell on it.

Moping doesn’t help anything. You’re allowed to be disappointed, of course, but try not to take the situation too seriously. Rather than focusing on how bad you feel, realize that the guy who didn’t call back for a second date or told you he wasn’t into you is the one who lost out, and there’s nothing you can do but move on.

2Don’t get down on yourself.

Just because something didn’t work out doesn’t mean you’re at fault. Try not to blame yourself right off the bat if you didn’t click with someone. It doesn’t have to be about something you said or did or failed to do; maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.

3Talk about it with your BFFs.

The best remedy for rejection is leaning on your friends. Whether a guy stood you up, didn’t call back or ended something you thought was going well, you don’t have to deal with it alone. Call up your BFFs for moral support so you can feel better, faster.
