If a cycle workout to the sounds of Beyoncé is your idea of the perfect ride, hold on to your saddles! In a new partnership with fancy stationary bike company Peloton, the GRAMMY Award-winning singer is bringing a number of themed workouts to their members — ranging from indoor cycling, running, strength, bootcamp, yoga and meditation.
Commemorating Homecoming season, a special celebration for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that has been disrupted by the pandemic, Beyoncé and Peloton are also giving away two-year Peloton Digital memberships to students at Bennett College, Clark Atlanta University, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College and Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, and Wilberforce University by the end of the month.
These memberships will give students access to Peloton’s full library of fitness classes through their app — which has workouts that include outdoor running, strength, yoga and meditation classes that can be used with or without equipment. Peloton is also working to build longterm recruiting partnerships with the schools at internship and undergraduate levels.
“Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate and inspire those on their fitness journeys,” Beyoncé said in a statement. “I’ve been a Peloton member for several years, and I’m excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and adaptable way. I’m proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens.”
The special Beyoncé-inspired content is accessible for all users on the Peloton App (and you can also access certain parts of it for free during your 30 day trial period, with or without equipment.) In the months that follow, Beyoncé plans to work closely with Peloton to curate classes across their different workout disciplines.
