Can plus-size women do yoga? This video proves it

Can plus-size people exercise? Society has always said that it's impossible to be athletic if you're above your ideal weight.

But time and time again, badass women have shown us that it's completely possible to be a marathon runner, a pole dancer and a yogi even if you're plus-sized.

The comments still linger, though. Plus-sized women shouldn't do yoga because they "have no balance," they "sweat a lot and slip" and "they're too heavy to lift themselves."

Canadian plus-size outfitter Penningtons shuts down those views in a video for its new #iwontcompromise campaign. The short video shows a plus-size yogi doing everything it's expected she can't do — and she does it with some awesome attitude (and some sassy dance moves).

The reason for the campaign is simple: "It’s time to reclaim power from a society that thinks we should look or act a certain way based on our appearance," the company wrote in the video's caption. "Instead of trying to change ourselves to fit an arbitrary standard, let’s change perceptions.

"No limits, no fears, no judgments, just pure enjoyment," the statement continues. "When we hold ourselves back in fear of how we may be perceived, society misses out. Let them stare. Let them see what we can do. Let’s inspire them together."

I'm. In. Now, I just have to work on looking half as cool as this woman does while practicing yoga.
