OK, our lives pretty much revolve around orgasms: how to have one, how to make it last and when we’re having the next one. However, one man would like nothing more than to stop having orgasms… stat.
It sounds like the perfect affliction, but Dale Decker says his constant ecstasy is anything but pleasurable. The Wisconsin man suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder, a condition that gives him sudden orgasms without warning.
The problem all started in 2012 when he slipped a disc after falling out of a chair. He had five orgasms on the way to the hospital and it snowballed from there. Now, he can’t leave the house and says it’s ruining his life.
“There’s nothing pleasurable about it because even though it might feel physically good, you’re completely disgusted by what’s going on,” he added. “If you’re in public, if you’re in front of your kids — it’s disgusting and it can break you real fast.”
And it’s ruined his sex life with his wife.
“We really struggle right now as he is unable to work and supply for his family, and I feel like all the strain is on me,” she said. “Because he sometimes has episodes at night, we took the decision to sleep in separate beds. That can be very frustrating. You want the comfort from another person, particularly your husband, but we don’t have that.”
The condition is seemingly incurable — and it can lead to life-altering decisions. One Florida woman suffering from the same disorder committed suicide in 2012 after she was denied Social Security disability that would help her pay for the needed treatment to help the symptoms.
We hope Decker can get serious help — and soon — because he admits it’s affecting his emotional heath, too.
“It happened to me at the grocery store, and when it was over there were around 150 people looking straight at me,” he added to Barcroft Media. “Why would I leave the house when something like this can happen?”
