Miso and pasta are two flavors I never thought to combine so I was skeptical when Chrissy Teigen shared her Spicy Miso Pasta recipe with the world. But, being the giant Chrissy Teigen fan that I am, I decided to give it a go and boy oh boy am I glad that I did. First, I’ll admit that I’m a wimp when it comes to spice and I could totally handle the spice level of this dish so don’t be afraid. If you’re a super spice lover, you’ll probably want to add a little extra heat to it. Second, it’s so incredibly easy! It comes together in no time and it’s a lot like making carbonara with a few extra ingredients.
Soon after Teigen posted this recipe, it blew up on social media. People were raving about it online and I was intrigued. I never thought about using miso like this but you guys, the hype was so, so real. The miso ended up being the real star of this dish with its subtle sweetness perfectly pairing with the chili garlic sauce. I love how versatile this dish is too because you can easily throw any veggie or protein you have on hand into this dish. It would be great with peas, asparagus, spinach or sausage. You could even make it vegan by leaving out the eggs and bacon and just using pasta water, cheese, miso and chili garlic paste as your sauce. It’s a totally foolproof recipe and there’s no wrong way to make it. Thanks, Chrissy!
