Doner kebab — seasoned lamb, beef or chicken cooked on a vertical skewer — is all the rage in its home country of Turkey. But its reach has extended outward to much of the Middle East, Europe, Canada and Australia.
That’s because the thinly shaved meat, whether wrapped in flatbread with veggies, garlic sauce and pickles, stuffed in a pita or eaten on a platter with fries, is basically the best street food of all time.
