If there was one thing we learned in 2018, it’s that in spite of rigid food and safety standards, food recalls happen — and they happen frequently (we’re looking at you, romaine lettuce). There is a good reason for all of these recalls, of course. Mistakes can (and do) happen. But whether a product is pulled due to contamination, possible contamination, mislabeling and/or the usage of undeclared ingredients doesn’t matter.
