Homemade Croutons

- 4 (3/4-inch) slices whole grain bread, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vegan margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Directions:

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Spread bread cubes in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crispy and lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, heat oil and margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Transfer dried cubes to the skillet and toss to coat. Continue to cook, tossing often, until dried cubes become crunchy.
- Sprinkle in garlic powder and Italian seasoning, tossing to coat, and transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel to cool.
- Serve warm or let cool completely and store in an airtight container.
