This homemade salty-sweet treat can be yours in just five minutes.
Sweet potato chips are the ultimate snack food. They possess the food craving trifecta: sweet, salty and crunchy. The bonus in making them in the microwave is they are ready quickly. You could be munching away on these within five minutes of the urge striking. As a side dish, microwave sweet potato chips are perfect for weeknight dinners or when you need some last minute meal inspiration.
What is so impressive about these chips is how crispy they become in the microwave. They produce an audible and satisfying crunch that makes you want to go back for another. The flavor is also remarkable. I usually associate the intense sweetness of a sweet potato with a low and slow roast in the oven, but the microwave makes these sweet potato chips comparably caramelized.
