Party-worthy beeritas

Margaritas are lightened up when beer is one of the ingredients. With just one basic recipe, you can make almost any variation you can think of.

Cherry limeade beerita

Basic beerita

This makes a pitcher of beeritas that will serve four thirsty friends.


  • 3 bottles of light, lime-flavored beer
  • 1 12-ounce can of frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
  • 12 ounces of tequila
  • Sliced limes
  • Salt for edges of glasses


  1. Put the tequila and limeade concentrate in a pitcher and stir to blend.
  2. Pour the beer over and mix well.
  3. Add slices of lime and serve over ice in glasses rimmed with salt or sugar.

Cherry limeade beerita

Refreshing and pretty, this version will remind you of that cherry limeade from your favorite drive-in.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings


  • Basic beerita recipe
  • 12 ounces black cherry soda
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • Sliced limes and maraschino cherries for garnish


  1. Mix the soda with the beerita.
  2. Pour over ice and serve with a straw.

Green apple beerita

This bright combination tastes like a Jolly Rancher with a kick.

Yield: 4 to 6 servings


  • Basic beerita recipe
  • 12 ounces of ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup green apple syrup
  • Sliced apples for garnish


  1. Moisten the rim of the glasses and roll in sugar crystals.
  2. Fill with ice.
  3. Mix the ingredients and pour over the ice.
  4. Garnish with apple slices.
