Gluten-free recipe

Hummus is versatile and can be made with a variety of ingredients to add specific flavors to it. This recipe incorporates roasted red peppers, but you could also use sun-dried tomatoes, olives, spinach and more. Serve with veggies like carrots, cucumber, radishes and celery or as a side with grilled chicken or fish.

Roasted red pepper hummus

Roasted red pepper hummus


1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans)

1/3 cup tahini

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, crushed

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup (or more depending on your preference) roasted red peppers


  1. Use a food processor to combine the beans, tahini, lemon juice and oil. Process until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Add the red peppers and garlic along with salt and pepper to taste. Process again until you reach your desired consistency.
