Grown-Up Ham & Cheese

Makes 2 sandwiches


  • 5 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 (6- to 7-inch) French baguettes, cut open lengthwise
  • 1-1/2 pounds thinly sliced ham (leftover or lunchmeat)
  • 6 to 8 slices Brie or Camembert
  • 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced



  1. Mix butter with mustard, nutmeg, pepper and thyme. Spread butter mixture onto both sides of the bread. Top with a few slices of ham, cheese and cucumber.
