Protein Packed Cantaloupe Bowl

A ripe cantaloupe should yield to slight pressure at the stem end and have a sweet scent. Avoid melons with a pronounced yellow color or moldy aroma that indicates overripeness. Use the freshest melons you can find in this recipe.

Protein-Packed Cantaloupe Boat

Serves 4

1 cup diced cooked turkey breast
1 cup fat free cottage cheese
Black pepper to taste
1 small cantaloupe, seeded, quartered, peeled
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
4 tablespoons honey toasted wheat germ


1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix turkey breast, cottage cheese, and black pepper until combined.

2. Place each wedge of cantaloupe on its own plate. Evenly divide turkey mixture and spoon onto each cantaloupe wedge.

3. Garnish with sunflower seeds and wheat germ and serve.
