We love looking inside the kitchens, refrigerators and pantries of our favorite celebs and chefs. In fact, we love it so much that we dedicated an entire series to it called The Fridge Files. So imagine our joy when we noticed that one of our all-time favorite chefs, Rachael Ray posted a video tour of her kitchen and pantry in her upstate, NY home.
Rachael Ray usually films her daily television show in front of a large audience in New York City. But with the city on lockdown, Ray has headed north with her husband John Cusimano and their 15-year-old pit bull, Isaboo, to film from her upstate NY home.
Rachael starts the virtual home tour with a long view of the kitchen and points out her open floorplan that allows you to see straight through from the living room to the kitchen. We’re completely jealous of the massive butcher-block island and giant pizza oven directly behind it.
Next, we get a look at John’s favorite item in the kitchen: a $5,000 dishwasher.
Rachel says it only takes 90 seconds to clean the dishes and for $5,000, it better only take 90 seconds. But let’s get to our favorite part of this home tour: the pantry.
Rachel walks us into her pantry and you guys, it is STOCKED. I don’t think Costco warehouses are as well-stocked as Rachel Ray’s pantry. But if you look closely, you’ll see that Rachel has not one, not two, but three jars of Ina Garten’s all-time favorite ingredient, Nielsen-Massey vanilla.
This isn’t your average vanilla, people. As Ina always says, this is *really* good vanilla. Yes, it’s pricey but it will totally take your baking to the next level. Luckily, it’s available on Amazon too!
The good news is that a little goes a long way and unless you’re baking up a storm every week, this bottle will probably last you a long time so you can think of it as an investment. Now that we’re all spending a little more time than usual in our kitchens, why not splurge on some Ina-approved vanilla and finally try that banana bread recipe you’ve had pinned for years? Baking is a great form of self-care, after all, and that’s definitely something we could all use a little more of these days.
