Every year, Trader Joe’s gives customers the opportunity to vote on their favorite products from among the grocer’s delicious selections. This year’s 11th Annual Trader Joe’s Customer Choice Awards were no different, but there was one notable upset: for the first time in years, Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken was *not* the “Favorite Overall” product. This year, it was overtaken by a seemingly humble newcomer that’s taken kitchens across the country by storm. We’re talking Everything But the Bagel Seasoning.
Even before Tader Joe’s came out with their everything bagel seasoning, we were on the case. If you don’t have a TJ’s near you, you can make your own blend at home, and once you’ve got it stocked you can add it to everything from dinner rolls to meatballs to salad dressing.
The runners up in the Favorite Overall category include Cauliflower Gnocchi, the famous Mandarin Orange Chicken, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and Unexpected Cheddar.
Mandarin Orange Chicken also scored the Favorite Entree award, while Cauliflower Gnocchi was named the Favorite Vegan/Vegetarian item.
The Favorite Sweet Treat was the chain’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, the Favorite Snack went to Plantain Chips, and Favorite Beverage was awarded to the chain’s take on the trendiest plant-based milk on the market: Non-Dairy Oat Beverage.
Avocados won Favorite Produce, and the frankly delicious Unexpected Cheddar was named Favorite Cheese.
And, for those of us who can’t seem to walk out of Trader Joe’s without at least a couple of non-food items in our cart, the Favorite in Home, Bath & Beauty award was handed to TJ’s Scented Candles.
Did your favorite product make the cut, or are you seething that Trader Joe’s Vegetable Masala Burgers were unrecognized for their deliciousness yet again? Either way, the Annual Customer Choice Award Winners should all be added to your shopping list — who knows, you might just find a new favorite.
