Starbucks’ New Dragon Drink is the Perfect Game of Thrones Beverage

Picture this: the eve of battle, enemy forces approaching, the sound of flying dragons tearing through the air, the roaring fires around you your only protection from the dark — and also super dehydrating, am I right? Whether you’re actually getting ready for a fight or just breathlessly watching Game of Thrones, Starbucks has a new drink for you: the Dragon Drink.

The Dragon Drink is a super-hydrating new addition to the chain’s permanent menu. It’s basically an official version of the Pink Drink that took Instagram by storm in 2017, only with mango and dragon fruit instead of strawberry. Basically what the barista will mix up in your cup if you order a Dragon Drink is a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher with coconut milk added. It’s sweet, creamy, fruity, and refreshing, the coconut milk adding body but not heaviness to each sip. The drink also comes with diced dragon fruit chunks, an Insta-worthy garnish if there ever was one.

It’s the perfect drink to sip on if you feel yourself getting the end-of-series battle sweats the next time you watch Game of Thrones, but we can also see it being a tasty refresher after a session at the gym, and a cooling beverage on hot summer afternoons.

In addition to the Dragon Drink, Starbucks has also brought back the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, S’mores Frappuccino, and Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino, ideal for days when you want ice cream and caffeine at the same time.

Hungry? You’re also in luck. The chain will now serve up two new lunch options: a Crispy Grilled Cheese sandwich served on sourdough, and a vegetarian Baja Black Bean Veggie Wrap. And don’t forget dessert — perhaps you can treat yourself to a Frosted Doughnut Cake Pop, a returning favorite.
