Jennifer Garner and Ina Garten have been making their mutual appreciation for one another known for a while. Garner appeared on an episode of Barefoot Contessa back in 2015. The actor also recently revealed that her go-to recipe for company is Garten’s beef bourguignon.
We’re pretty obsessed with the duo’s power-couple friendship, so we were ecstatic to hear Garner is going to appear on Garten’s upcoming Thanksgiving special, which will air on Nov. 17 at 8/7c on Food Network.
Though the two stars didn’t actually film together, a segment of Garner’s Pretend Cooking Show will be featured. Garner said on Instagram that her “feisty grandmother Exie Mae Garner’s sweet potato pudding is getting its shot in the big leagues.”

Why, is that the #BarefootContessa music playing somewhere? YES. Yes, it is. BECAUSE—@inagarten invited #PretendCookingShow to be part of her Thanksgiving special!! 🦃 😁👯♀️ My feisty grandmother Exie Mae Garner’s sweet potato pudding is getting its shot in the big leagues this Saturday. 8pm on @foodnetwork! #ohhappyday #myonlythanksgivingcraft #glueisfun #bestgrandma❤️😇
Garner isn’t the only one of our faves who will be appearing on the special. Viewers can expect to get some epic recipes and helpful Thanksgiving tips from the likes of Nigella Lawson and Marcus Samuelsson too.
While we usually make a fair amount of our Thanksgiving feast ahead of time, this year, we just might wait to craft our menu until we can see what these culinary stars are whipping up. If their food can nurture our bellies the way their friendship has nurtured our hearts, we should be in good hands.
