Chipotle's Giving Away Free Guac for National Avocado Day
Hands down, July has the best national food and drink days of any other month — National Macaroni and Cheese Day, National Tequila Day, National Ice Cream Day. And to top off the month, the most glorious of them all: National Avocado Day on July 31. To celebrate, just take a wild guess as to which restaurant has the best deal of ‘em all… You got it: Chipotle.
Typically, we're accustomed to hearing the Chipotle cashiers recite their usual, "Guac is extra, is that OK?" spiel. But on National Avo Day, it's free.
"Our fresh, homemade guacamole has a massive fan following," said Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer at Chipotle, in a press release. "We want to show our love for the avocado and reward our customers' guac obsession."
To claim your free side of guac, free guac on your bowl or burrito or a free regular order of chips and guac, just use the offer code "AVOCADO" when placing an order online or using Chipotle's app. You must also purchase a burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos, though.
To make it very clear, you cannot waltz into a Chipotle and get your free guac by ordering at the counter. (Weird, yes, but also… When was the last time you physically walked into a Chipotle and stood in that line? That's what we thought.) So, remember: Order online or via the app, then skip the line and pick up at the counter.
Mark your calendars, set an alarm, do whatever you need to do to remind yourself of this one-day-only offer. In the meantime, we'll leave you with Chipotle's genius marketing efforts to get the word out about their free guac.
