There are some things we wait for all year, from the arrival of bathing suits at the mall to the first pumpkin spice latte of the season. And one tradition we always look forward to? Buying a tin of Williams-Sonoma’s peppermint bark to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.
And it turns out, we don’t have to wait — at all! While I always thought the peppermint bark didn’t arrive in stores until November, it turns out it’s already back. You can pick up a tin of the stuff — which is a combination of peppermint-oil infused Guittard dark chocolate, white chocolate and crushed peppermint candy — online or in stores. This year, they also have a dark chocolate variety, which replaces the white chocolate layer with more… you guessed it… dark chocolate.
You can get your tin for $29, which is admittedly steep (especially if you buy it online and have to spring for shipping), but when it comes to holiday indulgence, I can’t think of a better way to treat yourself.
Of course, you can try making your own peppermint bark at home, but don’t skimp on quality. You’ll need top-notch dark and white chocolate and a high-quality peppermint extract too — now, can anyone here tell me how to get my hands on triple-distilled peppermint oil?
