Today is the day you’re buying a pressure cooker

UPDATE: This one-day sale is over, folks. The Instant Pot IP-LUX60 is now at its regular Amazon price, $100.

You’re going to think I’m obsessed, and I’m not, really, but I think everyone should have an Instant Pot electric cooker. Not only does it make pressure cooking way easier and safer (and less scary) than the stovetop versions from you mom’s generation, but it doubles as a slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker — hell, I’ve used mine to make risotto in about 10 minutes flat, start to finish. Respectable risotto, my people — creamy yet ever so slightly al dente.

But I already had it on my wish list and was ready to shell out over $100 dollars on it. Well guess what! We’re not giving away Instant Pots today. Sorry. Almost as exciting, though: Amazon just put the Instant Pot IP-LUX60 6-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker on sale for 70 bucks, the lowest price ever. Now you have to buy one, right?
